This is another coffee created by the amazing team at Forest Coffee. This is the second coffee I’ve had the opportunity to develop with them, and I’m incredibly grateful to be able to do so.
The team at El Vergel Estate is truly like no other.
This coffee is a little different and it’s exactly the kind of coffee I’ve always wanted to see as a coffee nerd. To my knowledge, this offering isn’t available anywhere else.
Once again, El Vergel has perfected an incredible balance between price and quality.
I chose a natural process Caturra varietal, as many of my favorite coffees come from this combination. From there, I selected a Strawberry Aerobic fermentation and a Banana Aerobic fermentation, which are blended together before roasting.
The flavor notes on this coffee are outstanding, with my favorite being Strawberry Banana Smoothie. The note is present just enough to shine, without taking away from the underlying quality of the coffee itself.
The story behind the name, RUSSELL:
Russell is my quirky dog with an absolutely unique personality. At times he’s a bit of a lone wolf, but he can also be the most incredible companion. Unlike my pup Django, Russell is the most well-behaved dog I’ve ever had. This coffee reflects his personality perfectly, and I think it honors him quite well.
